Highlights from Paris Fashion Week

As summer comes to an end and autumn slowly creeps in, my personal favorite time of the year starts once again: Paris Fashion Week. Although it happens twice a year, Paris Fashion Week is one of my most anticipated events for the fall/winter season. Not only does it produce some of the most iconic fashion moments throughout the whole year, but it also is a forecast for some upcoming trends we may see in our fall and winter outfits. So, come with me as I try and encapsulate some of the most dazzling and intricate shows of the whole week.

It’s hard to think about Paris Fashion Week, without thinking of Chanel, so this seems like the perfect starting point. This year, the Chanel show took place at The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, a museum and an exhibition for various events such as the Olympics and Tour de France. The show was a statement to not only Chanel’s history, but also their iconic styling. We saw tweed skirts, ruffled collars, matching sets, and fabulous coats - all paired with signature jewelry and handbags to match. Here are some of my favorite looks!

Up next, is another iconic brand: Louis Vuitton. I have to say, for this season, Louis Vuitton might have produced one of my favorite line ups in the bunch. The balloon sleeved arms and blazers both gave nods to various Renaissance silhouettes shown in the show. I don’t know why, but something about the clashing of different patterns and silhouettes will always scratch a certain part of my brain.

Another show I saw a lot of hype around this year was Vetements, particularly its lineup of star cast members and Anok Yai’s viral “runaway bride” at the end of the show. The show was titled “Time To Clean Up The Mess” and represented a new outlook of creating more “DIY” and conceptual pieces. Personally, I loved Gigi Hadid in her wrapped DHL dress and paired shoes, along with some really creative duct tape dresses to match

And the last show I’m going to be talking about is the most exciting one of them all: Coperni. It’s something about being able to see all the models walk in front of the Sleeping Beauty’s Castle that makes this all the more iconic. And not only that, but the looks had a sense of royalty with ruffled collars and pastel colors. Although not all of the looks were a hit, with many of them sporting weirdly shaped “feet” shoes and random Disney apparel.

Overall, I would say that Paris Fashion Week once again was a success and I loved watching all of the different shows and aftermath. I have to say that seeing Alix Earle ride roller coasters at Disneyland Paris after the Coperni show was something I didn’t know I needed. I will be sure to keep an eye out for any and all upcoming shows, and I can’t wait to see what will happen next!

Thank you all for reading, and I wish everyone a safe and warm fall!

xoxo,
